UN-HRM Vacation Department:
The United Nations Diplomatic Staff Vacation Act, adopted in 1993 and amended on 3 July 1996 by the Constitutional Assembly, provides that staff members serving at duty stations classified as having particularly difficult conditions of life and work may be eligible for home leave, in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the United Nations Human Resources Management (UN-HRM). This provision is intended to support the well-being of staff by allowing periodic travel to their home country, as part of the UN’s commitment to staff welfare and duty of care.
